Max Kozloff, prominent New York writer, critic, art historian, curator, and photographer will present a learned disquisition on why New York street photography is pretty much always in your face. Britt Salvesen, curator of Boxed Sets, will survey the evolution of the photographic portfolio from the 1920s to the late 1970s. Pointing out the ways in which these portfolios emulate, and depart from, traditional print portfolios, she will assess the significance of this format within the burgeoning photography market of the 1970s. Britt Salvesen was appointed curator of the Center for Creative Photography in October 2004.
